Due to the post-Christmas lull, I was in need of a holiday to brighten my spirits and so I booked a trip to Copenhagen the last weekend of January/start of February. I knew I would love this city but I didn’t realise quite how much, I genuinely think Copenhagen is my favourite city so far! You can read all about my trip here.
Work, work, work, work, work, work…got to pay for all the travel somehow!
In May I ventured to Hong Kong and then to the Philippines where I spent the first part of June. I loved both places but I especially fell for the Philippines. The beaches are just stunning! You can read all about my trip here and here.
July was a bad month for me as I came down with Dengue fever following my trip to the Philippines. I was incredibly ill and off work for some time whilst I recovered. I am still not 100% now, and it is quite a few months down the line! Please don’t let this put you off the Philippines though, it is still one of my favourite places and to be honest, I could have caught Dengue fever in many other places I have been to throughout the years, I was just unlucky in this instance.
It was also my little brother’s PHD graduation, which despite me feeling horrendous and only managing half the day, I still really enjoyed and I felt so, so proud of him! I enjoyed a lovely stay at the Leopold Hotel in Sheffield and you can read about it here.
Still recovering from Dengue, so again, it was a slow month.
This was an amazing month for me as I finally qualified as a Solicitor. It had taken 5 years of study and 4 more years working to get to this point, and I am so proud to finally be able to say that I am fully qualified.
I also ventured down to London twice in September, the first time was for the Bloggers Festival and I met some amazing bloggers that I am now proud to call friends. You can check their blogs out here:

I was also featured in Blogosphere Magazine in their In The Spotlight Section and I got to meet some of my blogger idols including Victoria of In The Frow, who was the cover star for that particular issue. I also got to stay at the Mondrian London too! You can read about the event here and my review of the Mondrian here. Whilst in London I got to enjoy afternoon tea at Sketch London and it was awesome! You can read about this here. I also met the lovely Katie, Arora and Ciara and you can follow their blogs here:

This was my birthday month and I discovered the awesomeness of South Lakes Zoo, I even became friends with a real kangaroo!
A quiet month for travel but I did spend some time exploring Manchester’s Christmas markets! My blog also had it’s 1 year anniversary!
This was a busy month of travel! I started the month with a trip to Northern Ireland to visit family and ended the month in Riga, which was a magical, festive trip before Christmas, and my last one of 2016. You can read my Riga posts here.
Overall, I had a pretty good year full of travel! I actually managed 4 out of 5 of my 2016 travelutions, which is pretty good going considering I work full time! I now need to put together my 2017 travelutions! Here’s to 2017 and let’s hope it’s full of even more travel opportunities!
