Essentially, this is my October favourites, but I tend to use the word ‘awesome’ to describe stuff I love more than ‘fave’ so I felt ‘awesomes’ was a more suitable word for my monthly favourites. So, lets get into it…
1. Paperchase Travel Planner
I love planning. I am not ashamed to admit that I am a planner through and through. I spend hours planning trips, thinking up itineraries and making lists. I get a strange amount of joy from such activities. So, when my friend bought me this travel planner from Paperchase I was immediately in love. It has pages for planning overall trips, weekly and monthly itineraries and space for just making a good old list. I just think the idea of having a journal for pre-trip planning is awesome and something I have not come across before. If anyone knows of any others please do let me know?!
2. The White Company Winter Candle
Finally, it is that time of year when my favourite candle scent ever is back in the shops for purchase. I am so obsessed with this candle that I have one for every room in my house, and pretty soon I will no doubt have spares. I physically cannot walk past a White Company shop without calling in and getting another. My ultimate dream though is to have the Botanical Winter Candles in every room, as they are uber stunning, just my budget does not quite stretch to that yet. I cannot rave about this scent enough and it is everything I love about autumn and winter rolled up into an amazing smell.
3. South Lakes Safari Zoo
I went here for the first time for my birthday at the start of October and loved every second of it. I have raved about it to everyone who would listen (and even those that don’t) since returning from my day trip. I have also pretty much lived in my giraffe ears since. They are pretty awesome. If you want to read more about my day trip you can do so here.
4. NARS Velvet Lipglide in Bound
I love, love, love make up. I am potentially a bit of a make up addict actually. I cannot go through a single month without picking up some new products or stocking up on the old faithful ones. In fact, sometimes when I am feeling down, I will head to a beauty counter, have a mini makeover and purchase some new, and most likely not actually needed, products. This month was no different and on a trip to Space NK to pick up my trusty Becca backlight primer, I got suckered into the NARS stand and came away with a new foundation and a new lip product – oops.
I have to say though, the new NARS Velvet Lipglides are truly stunning. The pigmentation is insane and the formula is incredible, it just glides onto your lips with ease and stays for ages without budging. It’s not a liquid lip so it doesn’t last to that extent but, it is incredibly moisturising, giving a subtle gloss effect and even makes my lips look fuller. I am literally obsessed with this product and have worn it pretty much every day since purchasing. I think I am going to need to invest in some more colours!
5. 36 Hours Travel Book
I have wanted this book for so, so long, I’m not actually sure why I hadn’t purchased it before. Anyway, I was lucky enough to be bought this for my birthday and I have been reading it, marking it up (and using my travel planner) to put together some ideas for future trips. I am heading to Riga in December and this book has given me some great ideas for the few days I have there.
6. The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Mask
Wow. This product is just awesome. I had so many compliments on my skin the day after I used this mask, it was incredible. You can really feel this mask working deep into your pores when you put it on, and you notice a difference in your skin as soon as it is removed. My skin was instantly smoother and glowing. I have also noticed the pores and blackheads around my T-Zone have started to shrink since using this a couple of times a week. The best bit? It is only £15!! I am in love.
7. Virgin Active Gym
I am fed up of not feeling happy in my body. It got to the point that I felt uncomfortable in my clothes and I wanted to change. I therefore got off my ass and joined my local gym. I splashed out a bit as I am not the best with will power and motivation, so I find little luxuries such as nice facilities, changing rooms etc really help to motivate me. I therefore chose my local Virgin Gym and I have to say, I love it there. The staff are super friendly, I never feel self conscious when using the weights, the pool is dimly lit so I don’t feel all exposed in my swimming costume and the classes they offer are awesome. I have really got into their BootyBarre and spinning classes and have found I am now going to the gym 4-5 times a week! Hopefully I will start seeing some results…
So there we have it, my October Awesomes. I quite enjoyed writing this post and sharing my ‘awesomes’ with you, so I think I may make this a permanent feature on my blog. Let me know what you think? What are your ‘October Awesomes’?
